Is it possible to take a set of parts and sub-assemblies at certain revision/versions and save them as a Baseline version of an assembly?
In other PDM systems I have used, this was possible and sometimes very useful, as a way of recording the precise status of every part and sub-assembly at the time when a given system was delivered/installed.
In a related question, is this baselining possible in Solidworks PDM Standard?

Hi John, apologies if I misunderstood your question, but isn't that what a revision is? A snapshot of what an design looked like at a specific point in time?
With the way that PDM Standard functions, every time you check out a file, make some changes, and check it back in, you create a new version. You can then access those versions at any time. PDM Standard also allows you to create revisions, by moving files through a workflow/approval process. Each time a file is moved through the workflow, the revision is incremented. Again, by looking at the file's history you can access those revisions to see what the design looked like at that point in time.
Does that help, or am I way off base?
Kind regards,
Prasad
