Hello everybody,
Kind of new to the SolidWorks forums here but I'm studying product design at CCS and I have a question about using the pattern feature.
I'm trying to pattern a feature on a curved surface but I can't seem to get it right, I've looked at videos on youtube but are not really helpful.
I've attached a screenshot in hopes that will help show it visually. I got it to work for the back, which is not a flat surface, it's slightly curved. I just am lost in how to get it to continue around the form.
Thanks.
I tried something out.

The key is to use the "Curve Driven Pattern" with a single curve that wraps around the bend (can't use a sketch).
You can use Create a "Split Line" and then use "Composite Curve" to turn it into one single curve, or use "Project Curve" and then use "Composite Curve" to turn it all into one curve.
Then use the "Composite Curve" that you created to drive the "Curve Driven Pattern", give it an offset or equal spacing.
The key afterwards is to use "Tangent to Curve" alignment.

I have attached my solidworks file (made using SW 15, SP 3.0)
