I would like to add a few custom company specific thread profiles as options to the new Thread Wizard, but I can't seem to locate information on how to do that. I'd also be interested in adding the standard NPT and ACME threads.

Hi.
Not sure if anyone has answered this properly yet?
To expand a little on Doug's reply, open an existing library form part (*.SLDLFP) and save as a new file (in the same directory as the rest of the thread form files), that will contain your new/amended thread profile(s).
Change the profile of the thread form to suit your needs. Note that the file has configurations set up and that they will need to be deleted, if unused, or renamed to reflect the profile they contain. The name of each configuration will appear in the list of the insert feature dialog, so name the configs sensibly.
When you're done editing save your work, close the library file and take a look at this.
I'm sure ACME and STUB ACME will be straightforward to implement. Not too sure about tapered threads though.

Hi David,
I'm following this thread because I need to create a custom thread M18x.75mm and If I follow the instructions above I can not find Thread library part "metric tap.SLDLFP in my install folder?

I just figured out my problem with the help of a former colleague at SW (he's still with SW) that I was looking in the wrong directory and - the thread profiles are actually in the /ProgramData/Soldworks/Solidworks<version>/Thread profiles directory. What is weird is that I first went to my file locations in system options and it shows it, by default in the install directory?:
Thanks Jody.

click on tools options....go to your system options and file locations... then open one of the existing thread profiles...make changes and save as into the same folder.
