I need to add a degree symbol next to a number, I created in a note. How do I do this.
Hold down alt key and type 0176 on the number pad
If you want to save that all important key stroke, Alt 248 also works to make the degree symbol (°).
<MOD_DEG> = 10 keystrokes using two hands
Alt 0176 = 5 keystrokes using two hands
Alt 248 = 4 Keystrokes using two hands
Selecting the Add Symbol and Degree buttons in the Note manager = 2 mouse clicks with one hand
Touchè Kelvin, but the "Add Symbol" is only available in SolidWorks. Sometimes you need that degree symbol when you're bragging about the 70° & sunny February day to your family up north.

or while your in typing note mode type number and then after it <MOD-DEG> as shown in CAPITAL letters, the same can be done for diameter symbol <MOD-DIAM>
Click the Start menu, type charmap in the Search box, and press Enter.
This will give you the character map for all those special Alt key functions that you never knew about.
