SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2016 Equation-driven Results

Hello,

I was excited to see solid works simulation had finally added an equation driven results plot.

However, It appears it is lacking. Hopefully, I am missing something.

For instance, in a non linear analysis with plasticity, the limiting strain must be

calculated at all points as per ASME  Section VIII, Div. 2 code.

ASME requires a plot which is a function of  the Equivalent "PLASTIC" strain, and is used in the local failure check for limiting strain.

Perhaps I am missing something, but it appears only Equivalent "TOTAL" strain (elastic +plastic) is

available to be used in plot equation:

Thanks for any help,

Steve
