Are you attempting to use the Download Manager
did you download the compressed install file?
Also, there was a problem with a MS KB issue, but not sure if SWx has posted an updated installer to avoid this issue.
First thing I want you to try is to go to windows explorer and type in UAC, once you see change user account settings pop up, select it and lower it to minimum. Followed by that go and try and install SolidWorks again. If that does not work, go and uninstall and reinstall only C++ redistributable 2005 and if that does not work try to uninstall all C++ Redistributables from newest to oldest, you can find all the C++ files on Microsoft website.
However, your safest bet after UAC is to go and revert back to Windows 7, however, if that is not the option try the C++ redi. usually a culprit in these installation errors.
Hope this helps,
I don't think 2015 Student version is supported on Windows 10.
Commercial version of SW only support Windows 10 until 2015SP05.
The Student version probably need to wait a while.
I (and my students) am running 2015 Student version on Win 10.
You can contact student support and provide your installation log files.
They should be able to assist you in resolving this error.
I solved this problem unistalling and then reinstalling all the C++ Redistributable packages.
I hope that will be useful for you or for someone else.
