Does anybody know why Solidworks is automatically importing a step file whenever I create it?

I keep looking through the settings, but there is no way that I can find to turn it off. It is quite irritating. It's not a big time wasted problem with the smaller assemblies I work on, but some of the bigger ones get time consuming.
