I have a multibody part and created a sheetmetal part within it that I didn't mean to... I know, duh right... is there a way for me to export those solid bodies into their own part file? I dont want to have to remake it.
Is it as simple as doing a save as and then removing the sheet metal part which means you're left with the solid bodies?
It would seem as if it is just that simple. I feel really ignorant for not thinking of that.
Well, that's why I asked IF it could be that simple. Sometimes the easiest answer isn't always the first thing that pops in your head, beleive me, I know
If you want new part only with the solid inside and no history (like imported step), right click on the solid or solids in the tree (works with surfaces also) you want and choose "Insert into new part...", this will create new part with solid/s or surface/s only, but linked to original part. If you don't want it linked, you should break the link.
