I have an assembly with a rod inside a cylinder. The end of the rod is extending outside the cylinder. The rod is not fully constrained such that it can move back and forth.
This two piece assembly is placed inside another assembly and the cylinder is coincident to the axis of this super assembly. I would like to mate the face of the rod to a part in the assembly and have the rod move when the mating part moves. Solidworks will not let me mate the face of the rod to this part outside the assembly since it is fully constrained. Is there a way to mate the face of this rod which is part of an assembly to a part outside the assembly and allow the rod to move based on its constraints?
Thanks
Hello,
I may not be following your post, but can you put the required mates in an intermediate assembly, then in the OP assembly make the intermediate flexible?
Cheers,
Kevin
