Hi Peter, you can use Solidworks Explorer to move or rename files rather than just through Windows. That way SolidWorks will note that the file path has changed and won't give you message when you next open the assembly.

Now I recall that Folder1 was on the desktop of laptop A. I copied it to the desktop of laptop B when I changed my main computer to laptop B. I then moved it to the Document folder of laptop B...
In this case, should I use Solidworks Explorer or PDM this time to resolve the issue?
For current issue/scenario, add the new path under these two locations:
Tools > Options > File Locations > Referenced Documents
Tools > Options > File Locations > Search Paths
And then select "Search file locations for external references" under
Tools > Options > System Options > External References.
