I can access my files at the university library, but when I try to access them at a computer seperate to the libary it says there's an error and to contact technical support. Is there any specific reason for this?

Hi there,
Because at my university the accommodation is separate to the campus, they provide us with computers connected to the university network at the accommodation. So the files are in the exact same place as they are when I open them at the library.
Does SWX itself run? If not then you might have a network/licensing problem.
If SWX does run, but you cannot access your files then look for the mapping of the drives.
If all else fails can you put your files in Dropbox (or its equivalent)? That is what I do for files I access at home and at work and it is great.
It is not clear to me exactly what the problem statement is.
Are you using two different computers - or only one computer at different locations?
Are your files stored locally (on the computer) or on a school network drive?
If you are using two different computers - are they running the same version of SolidWorks?
What version of SolidWorks are you running?
Can you attach an example file here?
Can you attach screen shots of the error here?
And the obvious question, Where is your instructor?
Where are the files?
This doesn't sound like a SolidWorks problem, sounds like file management problem?
