Hi is it possible to have solidworks 2015 on a work desktop and on a laptop for travel purpose?
Now, we in Europe, has only one activation allowed. So you can install SolidWorks on a second device and then transfer your license from one computer to another.
Do you have Stand alone or Floating license?
You can use Help drop down menu > Transfer license and then activate the second computer.
You can use SolidNetWorks License manager, you can find it in Help drop down menu, too.
Then you should use License Borrowing Tab and borrow the license for maximum 30 days.
Hope it helps, have a nice day!
The licence transfer explained here is very easy to implement and works well. However, it is very easy to forget to transfer your licence when needed resting in a journey to the other computer just to do the transfer.
NT CADCAM have a small freely download able utility that will transfer your licence remotely. Visit www.ntcadcam.co.uk to get this. Hope this helps.
Do you think License reminder? It is new for me!
Please tell me How does it work
Please tag my answer as correct, If it helps, thank you.
I believe a SolidWorks license allows you to install it on a second device as long as it's not used more than 20% of the total usage of the license....that's how it used to be anyway.
that's not exactly correct - if you have licence server - then you should be able to ask your VAR for HUL (home use licence) - I know it's something else but still.
not all VAR's will know about it or want to deal with it - but I know it's a possibility.
