When checking in a drawing file I am having difficulty
maintainingthe desired rev. If the revision level property
value iscurrently "A", the letter "A" appears correctlyin the title
block. However when the file is checked intoPDMWW the text in
the title block will change to an "A+"or "A+A+". I have been
bouncing back and forth withthe rev property in the title block
trying $PRPSHEET and $PRP withno success. My VAR's PDMWW guru
is never available. Help!
(you will need to turn option to "delete/rollback" on as well to get you out of this jam)
the working copy is used when rolling revisions. example follows.
primary scheme; X1, X2, X3 ...
secondary scheme; A, B, C ...
part 1 rev X2 is current.
ECO is issued, part is to be released to production, rev is going to A
user checks out, makes changes.
user checks in at X2+ (working copy is an absolute necessity).
reviews, approvals, etc...
user checks in Rev A
it's a bit backward but that's pdmw.
it's also one of the main reasons we left it behind and went to DBWorks.
when we used to use pdmw, we had primary and secondary schemes, set to sequential. the secondary scheme ( -, A, B, C, ...) had a safety net. the dash (-) in this case is the safety net used before committing to A.
EDIT: corrected typos
