Hello,
I have a part the needs to have a large quantity of text engraved into it. I have the text on it's own sketch and every time I try to extrude cut it, I get zero thickness error. I have moved my text away from the edge, took parenthesis off and made them quotation marks, even changed font size. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Angie
I use a lot of text in sketches and have found that some fonts with certain characters will cause the zero thickness error. You can fix this sometimes by increasing the spacing between characters or changing fonts.
Also, this is a complex sketch with a lot going on. I would break it down into a minimum of 3 sketches with the first being geometry only then inner and outer text being in 2 additional sketches. This will help you narrow down exactly where the error is. Text features rebuilds really slow so when I get them working correctly I suppress them to speed up assemblies and rebuilds but leave the geometry features (lines, circles) unsuppressed.
