just upgraded to 2016, now can't dimension between parent view and alternative views. I still have 2015 on my machine and can still do it in that version. What has changed or have I installed 2016 incorrectly?

I have just installed SP 2.0 and rebooted. Still having the same issue. I can dimension each view but not between the alternate views. I can't even find another quick and easy way around it. I have modelled a swinging arm and want to show its degree of movement.
Getting very frustrated now. I would like to go back to 2015 version but my parts/assemblies are now 2016 and can't back date.
Can you add point/line on the alternative view position and dimension to that?
Also can you attach a sample drawing and part to check?
That's what I was doing. Wasn't working yesterday but now sometimes it works- not every time- really weird.
Take at look at this screenshot, you can see the two blue dots that I have selected but it is putting the 4.53 dimension in on the some points but on the main view. I get that quite often. I can dimension within the same view but when I try to dimension between views I get these problems.
Works fine for me SW2016 SP2.0 EV
