I received a SW part file from a customer. When I try to edit a Hole wizard feature a message comes up. "The derived standard COMPANY NAME does not exist in the data base. Using the parent of this standard instead." I can just click OK and go past but I want to get the correct file in place.
All Hole Wizard and Toolbox data are in *.mdb files or databases.

Chances are your customer has created their own hole wizard standards as described in here SOLIDWORKS
If you want the hole wizard to recognise the feature on your machine you will need to request the necessary MDB file from your customer and replace your own. If they do provide theirs, back yours up first.

and tried to follow the steps.
I tried to copy ANSI inch to create my own standard. Tool takes about a minute or two to create my new standard called John_ANSI_Inch. Open up that standard and it is blank. Why does it not copy all the various screw heads?

I had a go at copying the ANSI inch standard, and it turned out successful. Image below.
Are there other people accessing the toolbox while you're making the changes?
It might be worth copying SWBrowser.mdb to another folder, pointing your solidworks at the new folder and making the changes there. If that works, you can swap the files around and point your solidowrks back to the original location.

Ran it again at it worked this time. Other users must have been using somehow. Everyone is gone for the day so ran it now. Thanks for the reply.
