I am opening a new drawing from an assembly, no matter which view I go to place on a D size format first the program crashes. This is not the first time for this problem.
Is this a program glitch???
It might be the drawing template you are using has become corrupt.
Try using a different template and see if the same thing occurs.
Just tried 2 different formats. Both crashed as soon as I tried to place the first view.
Do you happen to have any text in the template that can be changed without choosing "edit sheet format"? If so, try making it part of the sheet format instead. I had this problem and it went away once I did this.
Having the same problem, it seems to work if you select the model then choose custom scaling before inserting it to the template.
Open the assembly file and save, keep it open and try again, worked for me in the past...
May I know which version of Solidworks you been using? because I have the same problem in Solidworks 2016 when I insert model onto a template (which was created using older version 2015 and less)
