Just starting with SWE and wondered if it's possible for two users two work in the same drawing in a project?
well you could, but only one user would be able to save his changes and the second would loose all the changes.
So yes it's possible - but not practical:D
I believe multiple users can work on the same project, but NOT on the same document.
My company is using SWE 2015. We find that a drawing can only be edited by one user at a time. Successive users can "preview" the file, but cannot open it for editing, nor save it.
Thanks for the input, that's what we figured. It makes sense and I think you're right I don't think this would ever be practical, just wondered if it was a possibility with the database.
Simple, have 2 drawing sheet files worked on by 2 different people. When second drawing sheet is finished cut and paste into the first drawing. The options are "before selected sheet", "after selected sheet", or "move to end". Check and double check then delete the 2nd drawing file. Cutting and pasting one drawing into another drawing takes only seconds.
the question was already answered but I'm just wondering why you want to do it?
For collaboration purposes, we were just wondering if it was possible since SWE is run off a database. I totally agree this would not be practical.
I agree with the others, only one user per file. If you try to work around it, you run the risk of errors or using the wrong file(s).
