Hello All,
I am carrying out nonlinear analysis and trying to find what is the maximum load at which the assembly yields. I have provided plastic von misses material model and test data of stress and strain curve.
When I am trying to solve with 15000N load it is solving I am able to obtain the results and well within the yield. when I increase the load to 30000N solver is giving error.. Is SolidWorks having any limitation with high value of load?
Shravan,
It sounds like you are experiencing a snap-through buckling problem (as Leszik stated above).
I have found that changing the Control to Arc Length in the advanced settings of nonlinear properties allows a solution to this type of problem. It allows the force to change as the object buckles. Check out the help for details on how to fill in the "Arc-Length completion options" (results from a linear buckling will be used to determine one of the values).
Enjoy,
