Saving Configurations to .STEP Files

I have a Assembly Model that is setup with 36 different configurations with large number of changes between them.  Needing to send the model to affiliates but they unfortunately do not have SolidWorks so they require it saved off in either a STEP or IGES format so they can load it on their CAD software.  When saving as these types it creates a dumb solid and ultimately removes all the configurations and leaves it in the configuration it was saved in.  So in order to give them all versions of the model I have to set the model to each configuration and save a STEP file of each. Needless to say this is extremely tedious and was wondering if anyone knew a fast way to save off all configurations at once to separate STEP files?
