SW2013 install issues (not sure where to post)

I recently got a new laptop with windows 10. I found a site that has the bat files, where you run one, install as usual, then run the other. It worked perfectly. I immediately changed it to run in windows 7 mode. I have no problems whatsoever. Now I want to install the 2013 sp5. I run the first bat file. I proceed to install the service pack for 2013 and it keeps telling me my subscription does not allow the features to be installed. I see all options are checked. I do not know which ones are causing the issue. I do run the second batch file after an unsuccessful update attempt. My receipt says SolidWorks Professional Standalone License. So my question is, is it the update that I am not authorized to receive, or is it some option that I am selecting by mistake that is breaking my update. 2013 was my first experience with Solidworks and I found it so intuitive that I never even had to sign up to the help forum till now. Can someone please help me?

What bat files are you running and where is this website you found them from?

Call your SolidWorks VAR (Value Added Reseller) who you purchased from, they can help you out with your install.

  It fixes the Microsoft update KB3072630 problem. It fixed the original install problem, but I'm having trouble getting the service pack 5 to install. Like I said, I'm not sure what to uncheck in the installation of the updates because everything automatically fills in as if I was updating to sw 2015.
  
  I did call them, it was difficult to get information because he didn't want to help me install 2013 on windows 10. He wanted to sell me 2015. I just need to know if I am entitled to the updates or not. And if I am, I would like some tips as to what to check in the "available" updates list. Trying over and over, gah... thanks

    As Deepak mentioned below, you are only entitled to install the version of SOLIDWORKS up until your subscription expiration date. If your VAR (who is not GoEngineer, otherwise we would reach out to you with the information), is not willing to give that to you for some reason, you can try to call SOLIDWORKS customer service to see if they will give it to you. You will have to somehow get the installation media for the last version you are entitled to install as you do not have access to the SOLIDWORKS download without it. As for 2013 on Windows 10, this is not supported by SOLIDWORKS, and no VAR's should recommend that you install it. The bat files that you mentioned above were designed for Windows 7 as the Windows 10 supported versions of SOLIDWORKS do not need them in order to install. The recommendation would be to revert to Windows 7 or upgrade to SOLIDWORKS 2016. Without doing one of those, even if you are able to get it installed, there is very likely to be problems while using the software.

      Thanks for your reply. I will call CATI back amd make them help me. I find forums much easier to use for this type of thing as apposed to a phone call.
      
      I do not agree with you, that running a windows 7 program on windows 10 in windows 7 mode will result in problems using the software. That is why we have the feature in the first place.

Were you on subscription when SP5 was released? If not then you are not entitled to install SP5.

If you're currently on subscription OR were on subscription when SP5 was released, then please contact your VAR to resolve the issue.

  I'm not a huge company, in fact I'm semi retired and got Solidworks to keep my mind sharp. I do not need the latest version to do what I do. I paid $4950 for the core and it included a promotional upgrade to the professional version and yes it included all service packs for 2013. I just want to use what I paid for.
  
  I will call CATI back and make them help me. I just don't understand why no one really wants to address the problem I wrote about. Just finger pointing. Sigh...

    Jim, there was a policy change ( I think after SW 2008 SP 3.0) that one needs to be on subscription for installing the service pack. With this I mean that if you want to install SP 5, you needed to be on subscription when SP 5 was released. If it was released after your subscription expired, then you can not install. And if you were on subscription when it was released then it should be OK to install. Due to the policy changes I've seen several customers got affected and despite they were on subscription, they were not able to install. So in that case, your VAR and/or SW tech team should be able to help with the issue.
