Hi all,
I've recently upgraded my PC to a Dell XPS 9550 on Windows 10, 16GB DDR4 RAM with a 4K display and a GTX960M graphics card.
After installing Solidworks 2015, all the menu sizes were broken and unusable - After some reading I found this was due to the way SW15 supports (Or doesn't, as the case was) scaling in Windows 10. I was advised that this was resolved in SW16, so I upgraded. I'm not doing anything particularly stressful on this machine, and even without workstation graphics, the machine should far exceed the requirements I have.
Even with no other applications running, I am now getting performance warnings indicating low available system RAM (8GB free typically... ), excessive freezes and hangs when doing basic tasks like selecting edges, opening menus and alike. I've also lost all the icons on the feature manager tab, making identifying features rather difficult.
I've run all the diagnostics, with no abnormal results or errors. I've done a full uninstall, reinstall, repair etc. I have no idea why I'm having these issues.
I had less performance issues on my old HP 2740P from 2010!
Does anyone have any idea/solutions? I didn't have the performance issues on SW15 - but couldn't get a fix on the menus. I'd be willing to go back if somebody knew a solution to that.
Cheers,
Miles.
