Anyone using Infor Coudsuite with EPDM?

    Kevin Maloney

We are considering moving forward with both a new ERP system & a formal PDM/PLM software. I was curious if there are any users in the community who have experiences that they'd like to share regarding using Infor Cloudsuite ERP along with SolidWorks EPDM.

I'd also be curious to hear from anyone using the Infor PLM Accelerate product in a SolidWorks environment.

You might want to checkout QBuild, they are a CAD to ERP integration company.  They do have a two-way CAD to ERP link.  I'm not sure that they have the exact integration that you are looking for but it might be worth a look.

          Good luck,

Moderntech/Trimech have EMU which is a tool for transferring BOM data

EMU?? Can't say that I've heard of that tool. Who is the third-party vendor on that software?

EMU was written in-house by ModernTech.

                    Description

The Enterprise Metadata Utility, referred to as the EMU, is a suite of

metadata related features that allow for update and extraction of

metadata values in Enterprise PDM and SQL based systems such as

ERP/MRP software’s. In addition to metadata functionality, the tool

allows for exportation of Enterprise PDM Bill of Materials (BOM)

items to "dumb" data formats such as standard table formatted XML,

CSV and Tab Delimited Text (TXT) documents or directly into a SQL

                    data table.

                    EMU Bidirectional Feature

This feature is used to dynamically update metadata in a bidirectional

fashion between any SQL based system and Enterprise. Each Group

Definition consists of variable mapping objects that define the from/to

values for mapping metadata. Information such as Description from

Enterprise can update a record in the ERP/MRP called DESC (or any

other item name). This type of mapping is bidirectional meaning a

variable map can be configured to either update Enterprise or update

the ERP/MRP. A custom syntax creator is available to allow for

metadata to be updated based on multiple values from either source.

This function enables a right click menu within the Enterprise client

interface that allows for single or multiple selections of documents.

                    EMU Bidirectional Task Feature

This feature behaves identical to the EMU Bidirectional Feature in regards to setup and configuration. The difference

is that this method does not enable a right click menu and instead runs as an Enterprise PDM task item. The task

can be configured to run at any workflow transition to allow for the update of metadata without the interaction of a

                    user.

                    EMU BOM File Export Feature

This feature is used to export an Enterprise BOM view into a desired "dumb" data format. The BOM view is defined

within the Enterprise administration tool and is assigned to a feature; multiple BOM views can be exported by defining

multiple feature items and assigning them to the desired BOM views. An example of this would be to export a

manufacturing BOM view with specific data and a purchasing BOM view with different data; data would be configured

per a departments specifications. The available export formats are Comma Separated (.csv), Tab Delimited Text (.txt)

and standard .NET datatable XML format.

                    EMU BOM SQL Export Feature

This feature is used to export an Enterprise BOM view into an SQL database. The BOM view is defined within the

Enterprise administration tool and is assigned to a feature; multiple BOM views can be exported by defining

multiple feature items and assigning them to the desired BOM views. An example of this would be to export a

manufacturing BOM view with specific data and a purchasing BOM view with different data; data would be

configured per a departments specifications and can be placed into different tables within the destination database.

Additional information on the export is available, such as date/time of export and tree indent level (indented

                    hierarchy).

                    EMU Metadata Export Feature

This feature is used to export individual data card data from file(s) to into a desired "dumb" data format. Selected (or

all) variable data can be exported from the data card to formats that are able to be processed by ERP/MRP systems.

This feature allows for data export of children (referenced) documents data card information as well. The available

export formats are Comma Separated (.csv), Tab Delimited Text (.txt) and standard .NET datatable XML format.

                    EMU Metadata Export Task Feature

This feature behaves identical to the EMU Metadata Export Feature in regards to setup and configuration. The

difference is that this method does not enable a right click menu and instead runs as an Enterprise PDM task item.

                    The task can
