I just installed 2016 and every time I try and create a reference plane the program crashes..... any ideas hoe to fix this?
Please use Rx tool to capture the issue and send the files to your VAR.
Try removing .net and reinstalling, see S-061563 on my.solidworks.comfor more details.
I resolved the same issue with our customer, who used 2015 SP4 on Windows 7. SolidWorks 2015SP4 was installed incorrectly, because of Windows update KB3072630.
So we reinstall SolidWorks with the exception for Windows update KB3072630 and everything was OK.
But you have installed 2016, and 2016 has no problem with the KB3072630. So, I can recommend uninstall and install SolidWorks with Antivirus turned off, UAC turned off, install 2016 SP1.0...
I had this issue a few years back, updating graphics card driver sorted the issue, may be worth a try.
I have been having this problem with SW 2015, SP0. If I pre-select the plane definition components prior to "insert ref. geometry", it seems to behave.
