Why are angular dimensions units displayed with the 'deg' suffix instead of the degree symbol?
This can occur if the document property option is set to 'show units for dual dimensions'. This is a new 2008 option.
This has been reported in SPR 440226 "angular dimension units display as deg instead of a degree symbol when dual dimensioning is selected"

A workaround is to select the dimension and from the property manager enable the check box 'override value'.
Kelvin, Thanks for the insight. I didn't think using the Override Value was an option since it would be static and I am using the drawing to generate a cut list.
I get this a lot. Sometimes it does it sometimes not. When I want a length and it is giving me an angle what I do is use the sketch point tool and put a sketch point on each end of the arc, then use them to dimension, this will usually then give you the length as expected.
I know its a workaround but....
It might be a work around but it corrected the problem. Thanks
