Just curious. How many ideas, or pages of ideas have you gone through at this time?
The interface is pretty hard to navigate, so I am afraid that only the default first page of ideas will get attention this year.
It is a challenge to just quickly read thru them let alone the time involved in reading the details/comments. I am amazed year after year at the amount of ideas that people come up with to help with their particular reasons for using SW.
I read everything that was posted by Sunday evening. I have tried to keep up with the new ones but I can't say I haven't missed any. You are right; it is not the easiest layout.
I only browse the categories that interest me, not all ideas. One thing that I think would be good is to Curate/Consolidate Ideas, the Product Definition team should contact originators to better describe each idea and re-worded into something that is more generic, before voting, to that all users will easily visualize as working functionality. They can also merge them into any related/existing ERs..
I have scanned them all, and will re-visit the more interesting ones when I have time.
It would be great if a different page was displayed every day.
I have suggested in the past that the scoring not be shown, till the voting period ends, to avoid the "me too" votes. It would also help avoid the 'political' down voting of ideas which 'threaten' the top ideas.
Those are good suggestion, another idea that's been thrown-in is to only allow user to Vote-Up a limited number of ideas, that way the top 10 would more prioritized in terms of, "what users really need" vs "would like to have"
That was part of one of my original proposals...
Have the voting split into three rounds, with everyone having ten votes for each.
First round selects the top 150 ideas (or whatever number)
Second round selects the top 50 ideas(or whatever number)
Final round selects the top 10.
No matter how many votes an idea gets, I hope ALL the ideas are reviewed and considered by the dev' teams.
I had already went thru half the pages and bookmarked the ideas before going on vacations last week. So need to spend few more time going thru the rest of pages before starting to vote
It would be much better if instead of collecting new ideas SW development team have focus on current issues and bugs and do something to fix them.
