How about turning off the whole status bar?
You have a text box for help in the title bar.
Click the small arrow at the right and select Commands
then type View Status Bar,
You can turn off the status bar by un-ticking it.
Personally I've never used this coordinates nor think anybody uses them.
The only time I use the coordinates is when I need to check that a sketch is working off the origin 0,0,0.
I never use the coordinates that are displayed in the Status Bar and I wish I could turn that portion off.
However, I do use the static information that is displayed when a line is selected (length), two lines selected (angle), three or more entities selected (total length), arc selected (radius), circle selected (diameter), etc. I consider it a faster method than turning on the Measure Tool.
Huh, I never realized that the cursor coordinate numbers change to those static values. ...and I use the static values all the time too.
