I would like to know how I can close off and surface the area where the arrows are pointing.
OK. But remember there are still some work to be done to make it solid.
I am not sure exactly what you try to achieve.
Is it something like:
I made an offset of 0mm of the two surrounding surfaces - in two features.
Untrimmed both toward the fill.
Used Boundary surface with the vertical edge as one curve and the horizontal (reduced with selection manager) as the other.
The rest should be possible by trimming, thickening and combining as needed.
Could you please make a step file of your model since I am using Solidworks 2014. Thanks
Thanks, I used the model as a cutting tool and it worked just fine. Thanks for you help again.
Use the "native" Parasolid export/import format. (x_t or x_b)
Parasolid = Native 3D format of SolidWorks (NO TRANSLATION REQUIRED = CLEAN and FAST)
STEP or IGES are NON native (DIRTY), the exports are a translation of the clean native Parasolid data and the dirty imports are translations back into native Parasolid.
and,.. Parasolid version per release
2012 = 24
2013 = 25
2014 = 26
2015 = 27
2016 = 28
...and.. for your use,.. attached is a 2014 version per what Thomas did for you in 2015.
