Hello there!
I am new to Solidworks Composer and using its trial version.
I want to make BOM in it. But the Description field in BOM takes the name of the Body of the Part. The name of body is generally the last feature used for that body.
I want the Description of BOM to be the File Name of Part instead. All my components of assembly should have the File Name in the Description field of BOM.
Any comments will be helpful.

I had taken care of your said things.
However it didn't work. Surprisingly I found that when I checked "MERGE FILE INTO ONE ACTOR PER PART" while opening the file, it worked correctly.
I got the file name in Description by checking this option.
Can you explain what does this option mean?

Sadly, I can't explain what it means. I'm still rather new to Composer myself. Most of what I do is trial and error or pure luck.

When you select this option it does just what it says. It takes all of the geometry in a part and merges it into one. So if you don't require multibodies you should leave this checked. So if you have a multibody part you will get only one when this is selected. It is best to leave this checked for ease in updating from original CAD data if the assembly changes.
Hope I explained that clearly. While I do prefer to have meta data in my files I rarely use the BOM functions.

This post shows how a custom Excel based Bill of Materials for a SolidWorks Assembly.
Make sure that the description field in the part's property dialog box references its file name. You'll also want to be sure that composer's description field is pulling from the same reference.
