Where is the font "OLF SimpleSansOC" can not find in Solidworks 2016?
Should be there, found it on my system.
2016 SOLIDWORKS Help - Using Stick Fonts
I have just discovered the same problem. "OLF SimpleSansOC" does not show up as an option when I go to chance the document font. Solidworks defaulted to "Simplex" which is not a Single Line Font.
Fonts are system based, so go to control panel and open the "fonts" folder. Look for the font that you want. if it is not there, it has been lost from the system. the simplest fix is to go to a coworkers PC and find the font you want (following the same instructions previously listed). Copy the font file to a jump drive and drag and drop it into your fonts folder. While this really doesn't have anything to do with SolidWorks, I have seen this happen to me before when updating to a new version. It's a massive pain, so I hope this helps you get back on track.
After you have reinstalled the system font you should see it appear in the font selections boxes inside of SolidWorks again.
I know this font was added in SW2014 (refer to Stick Font (What's New in SOLIDWORKS 2014)), however, it appears that for some reason, this font had been removed from my system.
The only thing I can think of is that something in the SW2016 installation caused the font to be removed. I was able to use the OLF Simple Sans OC font in Mid-December 2015. At our shop, we typically perform our upgrades at the end of December before our annual shutdown, as we did this year, and today is the first time I have made any new files using 2016 and today the problem presented itself.
I was able to copy the font from the machine of a co-worker who had not upgraded yet as he was finishing up a big project right through our last work-day of 2015, so it worked out. Your instructions did help me resolve the problem. Thanks!
I'm glad that this worked for you!
I had a similar issue when I upgraded to EPDM 2015 a year ago. I lost Century Gothic font on 3 out of 4 PCs that I installed on. I caught the issue immediately and linked it to the SolidWorks EPDM install. When I brought it up to my VAR, they told me it was a system font and that installing SolidWorks should have nothing to do with it. I guess that sometimes fonts just get uninstalled by accident. It never seems to be very consistent tho. I have already installed SolidWorks 2016 and did not lose the OLF SimpleSansOC font...It's still there.
At least you have a workaround now incase you find something missing again in the future.
All the best!
At first I didn't notice it either, but that was because of the weird appearance displayed in the font box section in the Choose Font menu. Mine is right after Old English Text Mt.......
I did double check this and did not see the font listed in my available options.
Donntae, what would be the course of action if the font is missing on all of our computers? Is there somewhere we can download the font?
Trevor, I know this feature was added in SW2014, however, I was unable to find the file by simply searching the SW2014 installation media. I think I may have to look deeper into the executables/packaged files to find out where it is saved. I have ben trying to dig into this more, but unfortunately, I have not gotten to it yet.
I am not aware of a place where you can download the font yet.
