I need the origin moved slightly in the solid model (by moving the part, I assume). How do I do this and not have the part move in the 2D drawing?
I don't believe you can. The origin will maintain it's position on the drawing view, so if a body moves relative to the origin in the model it will move in the drawing view.
OK. Thanks. Maybe I should explain more. I don't mind the parts moving a little in the drawing, but the dimensions don't seem to move with the part. Is that normal?
Yes, they should, but they don't always update on their own. Have you tried a Ctrl+Q rebuild with the drawing open?
Thanks. That worked for most of them. I can go in and fix the few that didn't.
If you want the assembly to move and have a drawing made from it look at making a configuration in the assembly that has all the components defined so they can not move and another configuration that can have a limit mate or freedom to move this way the drawing will not be affected.
