Slow performance overall

Hi,

I'm the head of assembly in my formula student team.

We are using Solidworks 2015 (I assume SP2.1), in combination with wPDM.

The team has one really good workstation (HP z840)

Windows 7 Pro (x64)

Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 @ 2,5 GHz

64 Gb Ram

NVidia Quadro M6000, with the Solidworks Approved driver 347.52

But the performance of solidworks on this PC is really low, adding a mate (selecting the components, preview and accepting the mate) takes more than 2 minutes.

I'm not kidding.

On the other hand, making a render of the assembly is done in les than 15 seconds.

Here is an overview.

I'm really out of options.

I use a lot of lightweight components, when I'm not mating.

I always open in large assembly mode. I explored speedpack, but I could not figure out a good stategy to use this.

I hope anyone can help with this.
