I want to design 1/4" NPT thread . the standard length is 0.5946" . but I need 0.472 " (12 mm) length is my part is true?
Is there better way for design such as ( 0.472 " (12 mm) ) length thread?
I think you would be ok chopping off the larger end to make the thread shorter. You can see that the actual effective thread length is only .4018 so you should be able to get full function out of a .472 long thread, as long as you are able to get the threads perfect up to the .4018 mark and you are still starting the threads at the .47739 pitch diameter (E0).
