I have a coil spring that uses a variable pitch helix. I would like have a configuration for the coil in the compressed state that is 13.562" long. I can't seem to find a way to edit the helix differently for each configuration. I am using solidworks standard 2015. See the attached file.
Why not make another helix/sweep feature in the same part with required pitch for the compressed state
And then you can use the compressed/uncompressed version/configurations.

I'd suggest building the spring using the Sweep method attached. Configure the dimension in sketch1 to control the spring length.
