Can anyone help me with the best way to combine the surface and Solid body of the attached part. Tried thickening the surface and using the combine feature but resulted in 0 geo.
You just have to thicken the surface, and after that to move som faces, so both bodies to intersect each other.
I am currently unable to open your file(s). Often when some things or features have issues like this when zero geometry shouldn't be an issue, but it is, due to something being very slightly a skew it can be solved by making one item changed a bit so that the 2 items interfere a bit. So one item is made longer so the software doesn't think about or consider zero geometry as a possible error.
I don't think you can combine a solid with zero edge.
Even in real world, that back piece cannot stay with main body with a 0 line edge.
You should have a thickness to stay together.
Create an inside surface and make that surface to solid (knit)
Add a minimum thickness and then try combine (It could be in any direction)
As John said. It cant be done due to the zero edge that is produced.
Thanks for all the help!
