hi guys im sure its something simple but a face from fillet 5 is missing after i scale my part (scale3) anyone know why?
Now, to answer your question, the Scale3 operation created a topological error. Everything after Scale3 is built on a very weak foundation.
Turn on the "Verification on rebuild" from Tools/Options/System Options/Performance.
This is the Check Tool report after Scale3:
A little bit off-topic, but you are asking for trouble doing Fillet5 as an edge fillet.
Try to use a full round fillet instead. So much more elegant.
Thanks I appreciate any handy tips
Attached is the repaired file.
I have a few questions:
1. Why did you use 2 Scale features? That is very dangerous for the topology.
2. Have you consider taking a serious Surface Modeling course?
I used two scale features as an accident that is a fault from me
and I would like to do you know of any good ones or should I do the Solid Professor course?
The best Surface Modeling training course that I know of is the one offered by a certified SOLIDWORKS instructor. Anything else is, in my opinion, not worth the investment in time and money.
Disclaimer: I might be biased because I am teaching a number of Surface Modeling courses, standard or custom and I quite frequently have students who had taken other courses or spend hours and days trying to learn on their own from YouTube, SolidProfessor, MySOLIDWORKS videos or reading everything there is in this forum. They told me that they learned more in 2 days spent in class than in 2 years of learning on their own.
It is all about best practices, understanding the concepts and knowing which tools to use and how to use them for troubleshooting, error fixing, geometry creation and geometry modification.
where can I find such courses?
Your could contact your VAR and ask if they have a very, very good surfacing specialist on staff.
If you need, I can provide you with more details about what type of course to pick. PM me if interested.
Thanks for all your help Alin
