Just checked it in my vault to make sure, and it seems I don't get the same result.
When not copying setting from another user, the "Do not mark referenced files when changing state" is not checked by default, but when I do copy setting, it is marked as expected. Is it EPDM 2015?
In any case, might be easier to set it up for the whole group (forgive me if you already know this). When you go to same setting menu in a group, you'll be able to see whether some, all or none of the users have this checkbox marked:
checked means all users, not checked means non of them, and shaded means some do and some don't. Checking the box here changes this settings for all the users in the group so you don't have to go through all of them.
Thank you for your response. I do know what checked, unchecked, and shaded mean. And before I create a new user, the setting is checked. After I create a new user, the setting is shaded unless I change the setting for the new user. I was just wondering if there is a way to make that checked by default for new users.
This is for SW 2015 SP4.0
You are probably familiar with the way Settings works (as compared to something like Group properties), but just to restate: If you add someone to a group they do not get their Settings from the group, the user Settings take precedence. I don't like it.
But I would expect the thing where you can copy an existing user to do the job. So not sure what is up there.
I was not aware of that. But I don't like that either :/ That is what is causing the issue. Thank you for your help.
I just wish there was some way to make that setting default for all new users.
