We are creating an increasing number of sheet metal parts here where I work. I ran into a situation this morning which I can't believe I haven't encountered before.
While attempting to create several configurations of simple "L" shaped brackets (the only variables being length of the legs and width of the bracket) , I went to the Baseflange feature in the Feature Tree, thinking that I could simply control the width of the bracket that way, when I noticed that I had no choice for "This Configuration Only".
I worked around this by simply modifying the sketch dimension for the width for "This Configuration Only".
Can someone enlighten me??
I rarely work with sheet metal, but I assume it would work like other features. If you click on the feature (or double-click if you don't have Dynamic Highlight turned on), do the relevant dimensions display in the graphics area? If so, right-click on the dimension and choose "configure dimension" from the drop-down. That will bring up a simplified design table where you can assign the desired value for the dimension for each configuration. Again, I'm assuming this works for sheet metal features since it works for every other kind of feature that I can think of.
