I cannot create sheet formats, neither access custom made sheet formats, the error message is "an unknown error occurred while accessing..." Anyone know what could be the problem? Attached is the error message.
Welcome to the forum. Where are you saving your custom sheet formats? I'd suggest you save them away from the SolidWorks installation folders so they won't be lost if you update to a new version. Either somewhere else on your C: drive or, on a network if one is available. Then be sure to point to this location at File > Options > System Options > File Locations > Sheet Formats. If you've already done this, please respond and we'll try again.
Are you using multiple version on your machine? I mean any chance if the format was saved or created in higher version of SOLIDWORKS?
Second reason could be the enable scale tool on the picture in the sheet format. If you've a picture in the sheet format, then start a new drawing OR open/edit an existing drawing which has the same sheet format you need. Edit the picture and uncheck "enable scale tool"
Then re-save the sheet format overwriting the existing one. Now check by inserting that into a drawing.
Thank you Glenn, John and Deepak. It worked by unchecking the enable scale tool. I have a separate folder for formats and templates.
