I'm having a problem with a SolidWorks BOM contained in a
drawingfor a very large assembly (the BOM is about 185 rows).
Whenthe drawing is up, and the assembly is loaded
lightweight, I getthis issue:
Inserting a column into the BOM causes SolidWorks to load/resolveevery component contained in the BOM, which takes a very long time. In addition, when it's finished, the program then crashes. I tried opening the assembly as resolved first, then openingthe drawing, but then SolidWorks runs out of memory afterwards andcannot save the drawing as a result. I also tried un-checking"Automatic update of BOM", but this didn't fix theissue.
Is anyone aware of any way I can be able to add a blank column tothe BOM without causing SolidWorks to automatically loadeverything? By the way, I'm running SolidWorks 2006, SP5.1. Thanks in advance.
