Hi

I am trying to create a BOM in Solidworks that includes derived parts. For example, if I have a housing, I want it to show the cast, machined and painted parts. I have tried doing this using configurations and derived parts, both have not worked. The only other thing I can think of is having configurations for each stage and then putting them into sub assemblies although this is far from ideal. Here's an example of what I want to achieve:
