I try to make one configuration from several part . I use insert part but the problem is the final part is very heavy . is there a better way .?
make an assembly and configure that
My purpose is to make a library and manage my parts if i start to configure part by common way so : design table ,.. this get lot of time .
But if i insert parts the final part become very heavy .
are you inserting parts into parts or assembleys
i find inserting parts into parts then having relations from inserted part is bad
I only really insert part into part if i want a bolt or something similliar represented in part
I insert part into part (as a trick to make configuration ) and in any configuration suppress undesired parts. but final part become heavy. im slightly lazy to use design table for make configuration .
If you don't want to create configurations the standard way, I don't really know how we can help. I'm afraid you'll never get satisfactory results with the method you're trying to use.
Hello, while this isn't necessarily a solution to your problem as what Glenn is saying is true there is a handy way I have found to massively reduce file size. If you go into "Tools>options>Document Properties>Image Quality" and turn off the feature "Save tessellation with part document" & then "Save As" your part you should see a massive decrease in file size. For example I had a file with 36 unique configurations using design table method and it decreased my file size from around 50MB to 2MB. There is a small downside to doing this so I'll insert direct quote from SolidWorks Help.
"Saves display information. When cleared, file size is reduced (often significantly), but the model is not displayed when the file is opened in view-only mode, the SolidWorks Viewer, or eDrawings. The data is regenerated when the file is opened again in SolidWorks."
