I've been following the stability threads and they've introduced a hotfix ahead of the official release of SP5.0 for 2015. It seems a lot of people are experiencing much more stability.
Here is a link to the hotfix: https://customerportal.solidworks.com/eservice_enu/start.swe?SWECmd=Login&SWEPL=1&SRN=&SWETS=1267144948839
If you read the last page of this thread you'll see people are having success with it:Solidworks constantly Freezing up
That being said I've been using SW2016 SP0.1 and have found it to be stable so far. I know it's polarizing but I happen to really like the new user interface. I think it looks much more modern and less cartoonish than the old one - personal preference.
The hotfix you mentioned fixes the following: hangs when clicking in the graphics area after zooming or rotating a model This is exactly what I have been experiencing. Thanks!!!
I am using 2016 on Windows 7 and also Windows 10 machines. I initially was having problems with SW crashing when attempting to publish to eDrawings. After downloading SP0.1 that issue seems to be resolved although officially SP0.1 wasn't issued to fix that. Anyways, all has been stable since. Knock wood.
