I recently redownloaded Solidworks 2015 on Windows 10 and while eDrawings and Composer both open, the main program won't even display an error message. I've tried redownloading it, running it in compatibility mode, and updating my drivers.
..run a.. "Repair"... either thru SW setup or via "programs/features" uninstall/repair... tell us if it helps or not?
I have also tried that several times. No luck.
Keep in mind that SW2015 will not officially support Win 10 until SP5.0 which is being released sometime next week. Until then it may/may not work.
Considering that today is Friday 13th, it might be good to wait
I know it's not officially supported, but my friend also has windows 10 and it runs on his.
You might be right about waiting. Hopefully Saturday the 14th brings better luck.
Common-sense may tell you that if it works on 1 Win 10 machine, it will work on another. What messes with the perception is that reality will be subjected to many things - processor type/speed, graphics card/driver, RAM, earth orbit , etc. I wish I could give you the definite answer you want.
My computer is a Dell Latitude e6430, 8 GB Ram, Intel i7 processor @3Ghz, 500 GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 4000, and NVIDIA NVS 5200M. OS is Windows 10. Not sure what else you might need to help.
One further possibility - are you running Win 10 Pro version? I don't think SW officially supports home versions of Windows operating systems. As stated before, it may work on some but not on others.
I believe it's the basic version of Windows 10.
Try this, I would apreciate it to hear if it would work.
