Is it possible to create a flat pattern of a tube, like one would for a sheet metal part?

I am creating parts of bent square tubes with punched holes in them. Is there any way to create a flat pattern of those bent tubes, with the holes in them, similar to a sheet metal flat pattern? During fabrication, the holes must be punched before the tube is bent. I do not have a simple and accurate way to position the holes on the un-bent part, so that their position is correct on the bent part.

I am sure I am not the only one doing this kind of thing (bent tubes with holes in them). Are there any best practices for this type of part design?
