I have SW 2015 and am using WIndows 7 - but, I'm interested in updating my OS to Windows 10. Has anyone done this - any issues?
A search here comes up with this:
Welcome to the forum. SolidWorks is not supporting Windows 10 until SW 15 sp 5.0, which hasn't been released yet (but is expected soon). There have been a number of Discussions here from people who have already updated, and they're reporting a wide variety of issues. I would advise you to stick with Windows 7 for the time being.
Thank you for your prompt and informative reply.
I've not done a SP update in the past - once SP 5.0 is available, will any SW user have access to the update? How does a user perform an update?
Thank you, Patti
If you're on subscription you can download new versions and service packs here: https://customerportal.solidworks.com/eservice_enu/start.swe?SWECmd=Login&SWEPL=1&SRN=&SWETS=1267144948839 .
you can run SOLIDWORKS in compatibility mode, and wait for 2015 SP5 or go with 2016.
