Before installing Solidworks 2016 my D key was mapped for smart dimensions. I don't know if has anything to do with my current situation but the "Move controls to pointer" is missing from the keyboard shortcut menu, making me uable to assign another shortcut to it.
so far I have tried resting shortcuts to default and repairing Solidworks without luck.
Any ideas to why the menu point is missing and how I can bring it back.

I was having the exact same problem.....
Since SW2016 picked up customizations from my 2015 install, the "D" key was already assigned to "Dimensions". So, I deleted that shortcut, closed the dialog box, and then re-opened it. A search for "Move Controls to Pointer" then proved fruitful. Re-assigned that to an un-used key, and then re-applied my "D" key to Dimensions.....now all is good!
And....Move Controls to Pointer" is available in Parts, Assemblies and Drawings
