Frank, what is your intended use of the AI file once is SW? Decal, background image, design concept to aid 3D design?

The content is that of a label decal created in Draftsight then to pdf then to AI then to SW 2015 sp4.
It has lost some content on the way but promises the best result.
A dxf of the label is awful to look at but does import.

I think you meant to post this in the Solidworks section not the Composer section. You may want to move it if that is the case to get you better responses. If I am mistaken please explain your workflow but an Illustrator file extension I don't believe can be imported directly into Composer. You would have to export from AI to a different supported file type.
