Hi all,

I come from I-DEAS TDM and I'm a little bit lost in PDMworld...

In TDM, when you check-in an assembly drawing, automatically theassembly and all parts modified are check-in to.

In PDM, we must always check-in all elements ?

No one else has this question

    If you need to change it, take the ownership, otherwise let it with no owner and check it out.

      I read that in the Solidworks tutorial!!!
      
      I work on assembly of multiple parts and sub-assembly.
      And collegues works on these parts and sub-assembly.
      I don't modify collegues' parts, just place it in my assembly.

        Hi Eric
        If you want to be sure to not modify the files of your collegues' link the readonly property to the access in the vaultadmin tools (see screenshot). With this if your not the owner or if you don't have write access in PDM, the file attribute is set to read-only, so if you try to modify it you will have a nice message box that said to you that the file is read only, so if you want to make change take the ownership, or copy it as a new file.
        
        For your first question, if you want to select all the references when you check-out in the pdm options (the buttons at the right of the PDM toolbar in SW) check : "Select all references". And that will do it.
