Does anyone know how to change the 2016 user interface to look like 2015? 2016 User interface is terrible, hard to see, confusing, and worse of all, feels like Pro-e. I hate hate using Solidworks now.
You can't change it, Humam.
Is this the Humam who used to work at Genie?
I like it, particularly the Dark Theme(beta).
.... ixnay on the olorcay
I'm not crazy about it, either. Very monotone... or monochrome?
The interface you cannot change, but you can customize it slightly. When you have a part open, click tools and Customize. Here you will see a few options where you can change the size of icons and the context toolbar settings.
I hope this helps.
Give it a few days. It a completely natural phenonem for people to prefere what they are used to over new things. We have seen the exact same reaction every time Facebook have changed their layout. But I would bet 1000€ if Facebook changed their layout back to one of there old "preferred" layout the reaction against change will be the same.
If you continue using SW2016 for the next 3 month then lets see which one you prefere then
You can change the background using the color settings of LIGHT, MEDIUM, or DARK but you will still not get a good easy on the eyes contrast or any additional colors. We installed it on one users computer & within 30 minutes of using it had a headache from the eye strain of trying to tell which items were turned on & which were hidden because of the lack of contrast with the text. I don't personally mind the lack of color but at least do something to make the text in the feature manager easier to read and see which items are hidden & which items are showing. without having to strain & look at things longer. Software is supposed to be a help & make things easier & quicker & this interface makes it longer to do things & harder to work with. Why doesn't the user have an option to customize the interface colors to their liking rather than force something that was changed to help those few users that are color blind
Some of the UI enhancements are ok, but overall not impressed with the 2016 SP.01 release. Wish they would focus more on the bugs and performance than on changing colors.
I haven't worked with 2016 yet, but I have to wonder, why couldn't they make the new color palettes an option? Why force the users to work with a certain color scheme? Why are the only options for this light, medium and dark? I know adding features is easier to sell than saying "We fixed 200 customer issues in this release", but seriously, we need stability and performance. It seems to me that they change menus, colors and such to justify a new release each year, but they need to concentrate on fixing what's wrong.
